12" Scms Blade For Framing

Hey all,

I just stepped up to a 12" scms from a 10" and I am wondering what blade you all use for framing in your scms. I am looking at a 30 tooth freud and a 20 tooth freud. I am worried that the 20 tooth may be too aggresive for trim boards.

Here are the blades:

I dont think either of those blades are correct. They are both ripping blades for a table saw. What blade came with the saw and what brand of saw do you have. Try to find a cross cut blade or one that is designed for a miter saw.
Here is a link to a few blades for a miter saw.

Aww Warner, now you're talkin' my language. I love the Matsush!tas. I use the combo in my worm drive and it cuts like butter. I get them delivered to me from a store in CT.

I ran them in everything I have. Circular saw (just awesome), table saws, and formerly in my 12" bosch. They Heavy duty Workhorse one's were a thicker kerf blade than the rest of the line.

Unfortunatley, Matsush!ta has no plans to make a blade for my Kapex as of yet.

Have you ever tried cutting a 4x10 glue lam with one of the those negative hook angle blades?

The saw I bought is a Dewalt 718, it came with a 60 tooth combo blade. The blade is worthless because it cuts too slow for framing or siding and is too rough for trim.

I always used this blade with my 10" scms and never had a problem:

That's good info. I didn't know they made a thicker blade. I tried one in my SCMS and it wandered badly because of the thin kerf.

I have a small 5-1/2" Makita saw that has a motor that turns 8000 rpm and I put the 36 tooth combo blade in it and that little sucker can make on heck of a rail saw setup. Maybe as good as those green ones
