Warped Corner Cabinet

Some days.....things just happen.

There is like this bad omen with this house. I don't know if we're built on an old Indian graveyard or something, but this is not unusual for this house. I took it apart and rebuilt it (the cabinet, not the house).

These are custom cabinets BTW. They are finely handmade, from a highly regarded skilled craftsman. Sorry, I'll stop being sarcastic. I know I'm not perfect either.

This is no joke, the cabinet is that twisted.

Re: Warped Corner Cabinet

Had a corner cabinet a few years ago that had a faceframe 3/8 out of square, with a perfect finish on it, so it was obviously built that way. What da Flyin' F man? Yours is even worser than mines!

Re: Warped Corner Cabinet

Yer a funny guy Gus. A little caulk and paint makes a carpenter what he ain't, right?

All I see is two sets of red X's. No pics.

Maybe Chinese plywood strikes again? Or just plain ole simple out of square panels assembled into a box makes for a twisted box.

Re: Warped Corner Cabinet

sorry, tried uploading to Google Picasa. Wondered if it was going to go through or not. Installation pics maybe tomorrow of the library. All I had to do with this one is cut the top piece of ply and it straightened it out.

I don't think the house is jinxed I think the cabinet builder ought to vent the lacquer fumes better. WOW! Are those shims?

Only place that's going to fit is the fire pit.

I like how it was repeatedly peppered with brad nails that are all sticking out the top.

Believe me....I'd love to say some things, but I'm trying not to be completely critical of someone elses work. I know I'm not perfect. I'm just trying to install the best I can with what I got.

We have a saying in our shop for times I screw up a cabinet in the lay out process.
"We have an awesome set of tools. We can fix anything"

Well actually my partner has the saying.

I'm sure you are doing more to square that thing away than most would. Can't wait to see the install
