Using Stilts Installing Crown
ran this idea past a long term carpenter the other day- thought I was being nutty- he says ya, in some situations, he will put his saw up high and then put on stilts, saves on running up and down ladders. hmmmm I guess if you don't have to go down stairs it'd be ok... got me thinking though

If you were doing it by yourself, how would you cut the crown? Would the miter saw be on stilts too?

Re: Using Stilts Installing Crown
I just set up two ladders and a stretch pick....move it as you need it, works great for big jobs

I us a fold up mini baker when possible, or 3 foot ladders and a pick.

Re: Using Stilts Installing Crown
Doh! ok thanks
I kinda figured that but I've not heard that expression used here- scaffolding plank, 2 x 12 - I've heard of those my apartment is surrounded by them right now- "leaky condo" thingy happening- trowelled cement finish in a north lattitude rain forest- and it leaks? who'da figured that? we're lucky, we don't have mushrooms- |
