Under Deck Roof Soffit

Hello all, I am looking for some ideas. I Reframed and added a roof over my Mother inlaws old deck. before it was just that fiber glass wavey stuff, Which leaked like no tomorrow. so i shelthed it with 5/8" t/G and then roofed it. Also had to double up all the framing due to the fact it was 2x6's spaning 9 feet. Now here is what i need some ideas on. Its a 20x30 cieling under it, which is exposed to the elements. ( open deck. ) I bought sheets of good oneside plywood , pre primed the back and fronts. now I plan to V grove and biscit joint the joints, But i was thinking that full sheets of ply would look kinda wierd.. was thinking of going something like 2' x 4' strips. Might look abit differant, I am really open to ideas and mybe someone has done something that looks really cool. Well let me know if any ideas about finishing out the soffit. Thanx all

Re: Under Deck Roof Soffit

My old house I did 18'x35" concrete patio and put a roof over 2/3 of it.
Did 2x10 ceiling and 2x8 roof.To cover the ceiling I used regular plywood, which I staggered to create pattern and covered seams with 1 1/2" x 1/2 " strips witch came from regular 2x4's ripped on TS.Stained the plywood and "trim" different color.Looked beautifully and ended up being biggest selling point of the house 3 years later.

Now that looks nice! Is that the plastic stuff? I wonder how well the adhesive holds up outdoors?

yes it is, the adhesive is fibre enforced, hopefully it will perform well over time. it went up nicely, and really dried in well.
