Trimless Doors

I have a project that calls for a number of "concealed passage doors" similar to the Oval office with no casing at all. Does anyone know a surefire way to be assured that nothing will crack in the future? The walls are plaster brick making matters more difficult. 5/4 Kerf jamb was one suggestion. Im not sure how the jamb will meet the finished plaster this way.

Don't know about sure fire, but my best try would be to caulk the joint with a very high grade polyurethane, leaving it a little proud of the surface, and letting it cure, then sand it flush. 3M 5200 Marine Sealant would be my first choice, it is tenacious stuff.

Re: Trimless Doors

Do you mean, plaster/drywall with no casing, just the doors?

AtlanticWBconst,

Your pic is exactly what I am looking to do,

EXCEPT:
The doors are 3/0x8/0x1 3/4"
The base molding must continue over the door
