Like TNG, you can't break-out small jobs. Gotta go T&M and figure a half or full day.

Re: Small Install Job. Does This Sound Right?

Sounds like around $235.00
How long will it take
How much time for set up, clean up & administration? ( note: always charge for estimating & billing!!!! )
What are your material costs?

You are cheap ........... wanna come work on my house.............

Just kidding - I agree with Teetor. Small jobs must be figured 1/2 day full day. And include all your expenses.

1st rule of business...WE DON'T WORK FOR CHARITY

TNG,

Is that $300 the day rate? or the 1/2 day rate? I'm not to far from you and I know nobody down here is getting $600 a day. Maybe guy's who do high end stairs or hang the big $$$ doors. If I tried to bid at $600 a day I would be out of work. If you can get it god bless you

SP-
The idea is not to bid $600/day, but rather, you estimate your costs and submit a price. What you make in a day depends on how long it actually takes you to do it. The 600 is a goal not a price.

Re: Small Install Job. Does This Sound Right?

Sc I havent seen this thread for a long time but if you are in danvers ma and you cant get 600 a day somethings wrong (probably to many illegals)....You guys is Ma have to carry alkinds of insurance never mind the licensing and the new have to have medical insurance your state just passed for small business. I moved from the cape to NH 3 years ago because of that gay marriage thing if I were there now I would have to charge 900 to cover my helpers medical, comp, and other overhead. Up here we still live free...Live free or die....but charge what you have to to live.
