Scaffolding For Crown

Anybody use scaffolding for installing crown molding on an 8’ - 9’ ceiling? As for those of you who do; what kind of scaffolding do you use? Is it just planks on sawhorses, or do you use some other kind of scaffolding?

I use the folding plaster baker w/wheels. I think they were about $80.00 each.

For the last one I did this

That was 4 pc. built up in a small tray ceiling. I returned the lumber when we were done so I didnt have to store it anywhere.

Sometimes its a platform, sometimes we use those little 2' high 3' long platforms, sometimes a pik...

If it is a new build and the room has a bare floor. I prefer to use something like this.

For most jobs I just use a much simpler version of the above picture. Only two ladders with a plank between them.

Ah yes! The rolling Baker Scaffold. I used them a lot when I did nothing but Commercial Sheetrock and ceilings. I held on to one for years after I got out of it. Never could find a use for it when doing residential work that was occupied by the owners.

that mirror would make me very nervous, i like to move stuff out of room, or one side to the other.

Re: Scaffolding For Crown

All real wood furniture, weighed a ton, we couldnt move it safely. We were up in the tray ceiling, so we were a few feet away, and not directly above anything but the bed.
