Record Shelves

I have a friend who needs shelves for his records, and he's asked me to come up with some ideas. Easy enough, but for one thing: he doesn't want to stack them like books; he wants them like they are in record stores, in bins he can thumb through. I'm thinking about a file-cabinet type design. I'm wondering if anyone here has done shelving for large record collections—I'd love some ideas...
