Questions On Pricing

My friend is wanting to start out on his own. Right now he works for a contractor, doing things such as trim, interior doors, and exterior doors, he wants to leave the company and branch out on his own, and he was wondering what other companies charge per foot for trim, or per door, interior and exterior. If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it.

Re: Questions On Pricing

My sub who is a trim wizard charges me $1.25 sq/ft on the area. This includes all trim, crown, hanging doors, shelves, ect. $15 a foot on the cabinets. Of course, like all pricing I have seen on this forum...location is the difference. I bet there will be guys saying they were getting that 20 years ago in other areas.

Re: Questions On Pricing

We charge about $3-$4/sq ft. $4 for crown.

Interior doors $150/ea incl delivery and haul off. I think Exterior is around $400. But the prices always vary a bit depending on different factors.
