Mortising Doors, Hinges - Router Template?

Router template for Doors?
I'm about to install new doors (6 panel interior slabs), 25 of them in an old office. the old doors are already out, as are the hinge plates, etc. (replacing hardware too).

question: i'm sick of hand-mortising the hinges, etc. - isn't there a template you can use with your router to quickly, neatly, mortise out the hinge plates??

it seems like i've seen one in a magazine or something, but I looked at lowe's today with no luck.

anyone??

Porter Cable makes one. It is made of plastic and not the sturdiest one but for the price ($20ish) it is fine. I did 6 - six panel doors a few weeks ago and once you get the hang of the jig it is a great time saver.

Hingemate is the one I use for door hinges, It's aluminum, it's fast, it's adjustable, it's one of those tools that just makes your life easy and makes you look good.

Little expensive, but it's well worth it. Also if you are doing square edges, get this little corner chisel.

I also got these little dudes for centering the holes. These are the cat's meow.

Porter Cable and Bosch make a Hinge templete set. With 25 plus doors to mortise, it's the only way.

For that many doors it is worth the couple hundred bucks for a quality, multi hinge templete. I have the Bosch, and I picked it over The Porter Cable because you can go from left to right hand doors by simply flipping a lever on the templates. Perhaps PC has caught on to this, but a few years ago when I bought mine, you had to reassemble the PC to go from right to left. Templaco is another company that makes door hanging equipment. As for a "Vix" bit.. the best few dollars you will ever spend.

Some places call them "self-centering bits".
