Actually wobble and Lateral-runout are the same. If you are viewing the blade as you would when you are cutting, it is the blade moving left to right, essentially giving you a wider kerf, though accuracy is not usually affected.
When you view the saw blade from the side, looking at the attaching bolt and arbor and the blade appears to move up and down, this if concentricity, or Axial-Runout and has the affect of being or feeling out of balance. The blade will feel like it is "hopping" when you start to plunge into the material. In either case something is wrong. Lateral runout is usually attributed to a bent blade and less commonly a bent arbor. Trash and sawdust between the arbor seat, washer and blade is also common. Axial runout could be a worn arbor where the blade has slipped and worn a groove in she shaft or the collar on your backing washer. Inspecting and cleaning everything usually will reveal the culprit.

Son, I don't wear "panties",
and you weren't reading
what I said. The Avanti's
are available now, of course
I've seen them.
I said, they look like the discontinued ones.

I've been using the Diablo's
ever since they came out.
That's old news sport.

Thanks for your endorsement
of the Avanti.

Well, I guess I got YOUR panties in a twist!
Not my intention, just the way I read your post! It was rather vague though, the wording anyways. Yeah, I basically give away my "free" blades that come with the saw, it is basically a "Here's something to get you started" thing from the manufacturer.

Anyhow they were the equal of the
Forrest for ½ the money.
"Avanti's" look just like them.

Yup pretty vague.
Don't know how any one could figure that out.

"They" used to make another
chromed one that looks like it,
.

Where "They" is used after your initial reference to Avanti's. It follows that your referring to Avanti's which is where I became confused. I didn't realize you were speaking about another Mfg. that mad a blade that "looked like the" Avanti's! Now that we have cleared that up... let's move on, shall we?

For the record, I don't know which manufacturer you were talking about but I would love to see a Chrome blade on my wormdrive!

PS. What do you mean by "L/S"?

The subject was Freud blades.
Freud was the "they" I refered to,
sorry if that threw you.
Freud once made a very good
chrome blade, which they (Freud)
discontinued @ 4-5 years ago.
That blade was similar in appearance
to the Freud Avanti blades.

I thank you for your opinion on
the Avanti's, that was what I was
asking, opinions from actual users
of Freud Avanti blades.

BTW,
L/S = Long story Short.

Re: Miter Saws

i have the Bosch 5412 and love it ...everything about it is great ...up-front controls, cool factor everything except cutting capacity. you can only cut 4 1/4 base standing up (only 5/8 more than its 10 brother ) i understand that you can lay the material flat and cut it and all that other fancy stuff but there just comes a time when you get tired of having to flip the head up & down time after time to make a bevel cut on material that you should be able to simply swing the head over and miter cut it. I have mine mounted on a SawHelper stand with a forester blade and because of the lack of vertical cutting capacity and the sawhelper design everytime i have to swing the head over to make a bevel cut i have to remove the fence on my Bosch to allow clearance for the head of the saw to complete the cut.

SO, after all that (can you tell i`m bothered by the situation) i`m in the market for a new 12" slide and the only one that i`m really considering is the Dewalt 718...By the way that hurts me to say that because i`m not a dewalt fan at all, i just think everybody buys there stuff because they can get it @ your local box store, not because there the best. I called Bosch & they have no plans to release a new 12 saw anytime in the future, so i`m dragging my feet to do it but i think i`m going to go to the dark side. What do you guys think?

Well, I am admittedly a Ridgid guy. That said, I looked and looked and looked, and after was all said and done, I went with the Ridgid. The base is absolutely MASSIVE, compared to any other 12" slider. It supports materials alot better than any other saw out there. I had to do a little tuning on it when I got it, but out f the box, if you weren't rough with it, it cut accurate 45's and 90's. If you torqued it against the slides, it would go out, but after I tuned it a bit and checked it out, lubed everything, you really have to muscle it around to get it more than .5* out. And it still slides smoothly, unless the temp drops below 20*, which is common around here!

Take a look at it, I think you will be imressed. That and the lifetime service agreement should put you over the top!

From what I've read here, you'd be better off with an older model of the DeWalt Slider.

Re: Miter Saws

I bought the Ridgid 10" Compound with exact line last year, seems good from what i have used of it. Since trim work is still new to me and have not used many others I don't have allot to compare to. Anyone else using this model?

Since I cant post urls yet i had to go this route sorry. This 15 post rule sucks for a new person But rules are rules and I am sure there are reasons.
