I use this stand:

http://www.amazon.com/Trojan-TWC-35-...pr_product_top

I bought two extra rollers for it.

Too soon to say if I really like it, the saw is kind of wobbly on the 2x6. Needs some tweaking.

Re: Jobsite Mitre Stand

I used the Dewalt set-up for a while, it was a present from the wife last year for x-mas . The only thing I liked about it was it's light and easy to transport.

I'm with mikeswoods, I like a full support table,a 2x12 on the bottom, 2x's ripped@ 2 3/4" and a 12"-16" wide pice of 3/4"ply screwed to those. I like to use a piece of Advatech so if it gets left out in the rain it doesn't swell. Then you can srew down cleats for crown,or repetive cutting, and it gives you storage for tape, square etc....

Re: Jobsite Mitre Stand

My assistant made a great out feed table using an old 1950's birch door slab.

The door was a work of art inside-hardwood honey comb-amazingly strong and light-

To bad the saw he made it to fit died weeks after he finished the stand!

I've had their horse legs for a long time.
I had some rollers like that from
Wolfcraft, and kind of re-invented that
set-up before I saw theirs.
My version has a second short horse
(with a piece of plywood between)
to make a platform for the saw, and
a place to lay pencils, tape, T-bevel...
It's solid with my 65lb Delta on it.

I have had this setup for over 10 years now, and I do like if for use with a smaller 10" non-slider. Mostly use it for outdoor stuff, like decks and outdoor trim, but have also used it indoors for trim. I have also done some siding with it using a 7-1/2 inch slider. I agree that the table is a bit wobbly. You can make up some little "L" shaped brackets out of plywood that screw to the 2x6 or 2x8 and support the front and back. That helps quite a bit. You will still get a little flex in the board you mount it to, but it's managable. I won't put my Milwaukee 12" slider on it, though.

For indoor use I primarily use my Festool MFT 1080 for which I have made extension wings out of MDF with a Kreg track on top. Works beautifully, but is a bit heavy and cumbersome. The wings attach with 3/4 inch bolts through the standard holes.

I also have a Ryobi, which is surprisingly solid. It's steel, so is heavier than the DeWalt, but I actually like it pretty well.

I do want a Saw Helper, and if they ever get back into production, I'll be the first in line to buy one. Very nice setup! I have tried e-mailing and calling for who knows how long now, and never get a response. I wish they would at least give us a status update!!

Re: Jobsite Mitre Stand

I have the delta version that comes with wheels and folds up into a handtruck style that has the capability of mounting the saw permanately to the stand and my dad has the ridgid version. Both are great. When it comes to toting a 12' sliding dual compound miter, anything to keep me from carring it is welcomed.

Nah, I just hate sweeping up a mess like that.

I wonder how much money I saved/made, not having to spend time cleaning up messes like that?

That just looks like you are trashing someone's house.

Don't give me the new house bull crap routine either.

All that mess, wastes time cleaning up.

If you really must know.. It was one of the rental houses a builder I work for. We gutted the inside and we were in the process of doing the flooring, cabinets and all the millwork.. That saw maybe sat in that same spot for over 3 weeks.. I thought this was a thread about mitre stands?

Re: Jobsite Mitre Stand

Although i do own a festool ct33 and a rigid shopvac, i still clean up daily after cutting!
and only bring the shop vacs out to jobs that im parked on for a a few weeks!

i dont mind sweeping, but that room looks alittle rough rental or not !!

i think it takes away from your workmanship (no offense)
