Installing Crown On Plaster Walls

I have read a lot of different opinions on installing crown on plaster walls... just nail it, glue it, caulk and nail, install a nailer board in the corner of wall and ceiling....

I did a search on this site but did not find much...

Give me your thoughts.

I rip a beveled nailer to tuck into the corner of the ceiling, predrill with masonry bit and screw into place. Then nail crown to beveled rip. I even do the beveled rip on drywalled jobs, I shoot the beveled rip into the double plate, then it's easy going to find a nailer.

I've done this on several masonry walls. Just rip beveled strips and secure to wall with PL adhesive and tapcon screws. Then you can nail your crown anywhere.

Re: Installing Crown On Plaster Walls

Hey Gus, if I had views like that around here, I wouldn't ever go to work. Then I would have no need for this stuff.
