Neither of my two mitre stands have a delux. Their names are Stardust and Moonbeam.

Re: Homemade Mitre Stand Photos

No photos at the moment - I have a mobile stand made by ridged that I keep my 12" saw on.
My 10 inch saw is more mobile. There are times when it's miter stand is the floor, or a cosco table, or a pair of sawhorses with a sheet of ply, or...

You guys are probably tired of seeing these pics, but this is the best stand I have ever used. Being able to slide the saw all the way to one end, you get 12' support. Then back to the center for support on each end.

Re: Homemade Mitre Stand Photos

Not my set up, but the same stands we use:

LOVE IT!!!! Super compact when the legs are folded up, spreads out to handle longer wood, very stable, have held up to almost daily useage for 5 yrs now, and for $99 that I paid I just have never seen a simplier/lighter/easier stand with all these features. When we're doing longer boards I will bring along the stand alone roll out supports so we can cut 20' stuff on the end if need be.

I like the looks of the big azzed stands on wheels and such, but since we're only on site 1 day to 2/3 weeks tops and keep everything to build a house from the ground up (more/less) in the cube van, I just cant keep alot of bulky items around, just makes more sense for us to stay compact and mobile....trade off, but never found anything we could'nt handle to date with it.

I have my 10" CMS sitting on a Ryobi Stand...super compact and easy to move around...take that when ever I can. But when I need the 12" slider...I have it sitting on this in the shop...and sometimes I take it to the larger job sites....

Re: Homemade Mitre Stand Photos

Mine looks like Coles except, I used a 20' half of a 40' extension ladder. With the saw in the center, a 16' stick is still more than half on the stand. That makes things fast and simple. Since I work on site, not in a shop, the ladder thing is simple, just pull it off the truck racks. When needed, the miter stand doubles as a ladder.

Re: Homemade Mitre Stand Photos

I made these crazy blocks out of maple cut with 30 degree angles and a piece of 1/2" ply. I mounted them to my dewalt stand, so I could have someting compact that when needed I could slide out to support the drop end of wider stock. I drilled holes though the metal supports and screwed them right on. The blocks are about 8" long and I can extend them out at least another 6". They work great!

Portability becomes an issue - but man...once set up - these both were awesome.

Nice setup. It looks like you blacked out the blade & guard in the photos. Why would you want to censor your Bosch?

Setup mounts on old pumpjack style scaffold board on horses. Room for materials on horses.
