Help For School Project
Hello everyone. I'm currently doing a house building project for my project management program in university and we're developing a project plan for the construction of a house. I was just wondering if anybody on this site would like to help me gather the information I need in order to make the project as realistic as possible. I mostly need help with time, resources and money. Could you tell me how long it would take, how many guys would be needed and how much it would cost to do the following:
(all of these items apply to a typical 2 storey detached house of 2000sq.ft) 1) install windows throughout 2) install doors throughout 3) install window trim throughout 4) install base moulding throughout 5) install millwork throughout 6) install kitchen cabinets 7) install closet shelves and rod Please remember this is based on a typical house of typical design. Nothing fancy. I'm just looking for numbers you may think of based on experiance. Thank you very much. Any help is GREATLY appreciated. I will provide the finished project to the site for anybody who would like to see it when it is complete. |

Re: Help For School Project
Up in this part of the county, without installing the windows, you can figure on about $1.50/sq. ft for all the mouldings/closet packs(basic) and about $50-60 per box for cabinets(basic, which means not lots of fancy crown etc.). That would get you subtops down but not laminit or tile or whatever the finished surface is. This is for a lower end 'spec house' and wouldnt encluded stuff like underlayment for the bathrooms/laundry or fireplace mantles. You also need to consider all the harware that has to go in like door knobs/stops, and bath hardware or even handrails(wall hung)... Lots of stuff finish guys do.
