Having a hard time finding a piece of casing.

Its either a 3.25 or 3.5" x 3/4" ranch style casing. I opened a door up and replaced it. the trim was put on in 1968. stain grade yellow pine. I know it was 1968 cause thats what was the date on the newspaper shoved in the electrical switch box behind it where they slapped two pieces of this casing together back to back to cover a lolley column next to a door. evidently there was a draft.

The samples I have are both ripped and they look like they were probably 3.5" to start with then ripped and planed to fit the opening.

Anybody know a place I could order online or even a trimshop in south central PA that could cut it for me? Just moved up from DC area and Smoot lumber's website leaves something to be desired.....the trim will be painted and at this point I really could care less if it was MDF. I need 4 pieces of trim to wrap this job and I can't find RANCH!!!!!

Thanks,
Alex

Alex, if you can send me a small sample of the old stuff, I can mill up as much as you need! All I would need is about a 2"-4" piece of the old stuff. Doesn't matter if it is painted or not, I can strip it and match the profile in-house.

I really wish they were. ranch style base is only 9/16 thick whereas the casing is 11/16 or in 1968 evidently 3/4. but definitely casing not base and impossible to find locally.

DEAD_ONConst unfortunately the only pieces I have have already been ripped down the backside. I replaced the exterior door after years of settling and now I need four full pieces for me to rip to get the reveal on the jambs straight. None of the stuff I have is the stuff I need. and believe it or not this is the only opening that has this trim on it. the rest is 2 1/4" unfortunatley the header piece is also a different size to match the height of the trim capping the windows next to the doors. Miters looked like s%#^ when I got there and I'm just trying to make this woman happy...been a nightmare job from the get go...

if you can copy the majority of the profile and fudge together the rest I'll go rip it off her door tonight lol.

Thanks,
Alex
