Hardwood Over Concrete Stairs
I have concrete filled steel stringers and the owner wants to make them look like wood also have to take out steel railing and replace it with wooden rail and ballusters. someone told me they make a piece that fits over but never heard of it. Any other options would be very helpful. Thanks

Re: Hardwood Over Concrete Stairs
I think I could build something that would fit the bill if that's what my client for sure wanted, but it sure wouldn't be cheap.
Bostiks best glue would hold the treads & risers in place easy enough. Would probably drill the concrete & put in wooden plugs in 4 corner points in order to temp nail the treads while the adhesive setup. |

Re: Hardwood Over Concrete Stairs
Yes the first step is a doosie, you can slim it down a bit, but still an inch out at least. To be done properly it needs to be figured in when the stairs are built. Wood over concrete is never a good choice IMHO.

Re: Hardwood Over Concrete Stairs
Check out some tile that's fake/faux wood. Should be an easy remedy.

Re: Hardwood Over Concrete Stairs
I also like the overlay stamp system ,you can make it look like wood! The bad thing is the steel will still show.
