Hardwood Expansion
Hey...
The other day me and the contractor installed an engineered hardwood flooring into a basement, an office, and a kitchen attached to a living room. Ive done a few of these floors now and this particular floor said in the instructions that it needed a half inch expansion. If im runnin the boards length wise over a 12 foot span... theres no way I would need that sort of expansion would I... Im asking because we undercut the jambs and the casing had a profile in one spot that was only an eighth thick. I couldnt cut a half inch expansion otherwise it would show. Also the original base was only a half inch thick. Anyways in a lot of areas the expansion ranged from an eighth to a half.... |
