Not work related but got a letter from insurance company yesterday. While opening it, I was expecting it to be an increase in premiums. As it turns out, my mortgage company overpaid last years premiums and it was a refund for $1379. Immediately took the wife out for dinner.

Wow! That is a great piece of news.
The thought of you and Leo doing the two step at the mailbox together is enough to paste a smile on my face.

Great News Gus!

I bet that was a big sigh of relief.

I got a couple of nice thank you notes this week (for all we put into our work, these little tokens of gratitude are all too rare IMO).

One customer emailed, "We love our bathroom, Thanks" (vanity step-stool project & remodel).

Another left me a hand-written note last week, "We love our home. Thank you for all of your hard work." (kitchen and two bath remodels).

My little solo act is staying very busy on referrals from folks like that.

Regards,

Bass

That is great news and what a great happy thread title!

The bad threads really do make these good threads that much better.

I give homeowners a testimonial form while on every job and ask them to fill it out, while on the estimate I told them I would do that so it comes as no surprise.

Re: The Good News Thread

I give the customers a survey along with a brochure and cards for them to give their friends (see attached).

The ones that mean the most though are the unsolicited thank you notes.

Surveys are boring so this one has some humor thrown in.

All the best,

Bass

More Good News...

I was asked today to do some tool reviews for Tools of the Trade Magazine and contribute articles to the Journal of Light Construction (JLC). I've had some stuff published in Fine Homebuilding before, but this new offer made my day!

All the best,

Bass

Very cool Bass,
We can all say "we remembered him when..."
Try not to forget us when the Makita calander girls ask you to "publish" something with you.
Cause Leo wants to watch that shoot
