Re: Fine Finish W/o FestoolQuote:
Thanks for that. If, however, you would care to redeem yourself for this unforgivable disclosure, there is a small chance you could make all well again if you hurry out NOW & purchase a Domino. Yes, you will CERTAINLY thank us afterwards, but getting to the other side will be hard for you. Go to the tool shop, get the Domino, & close your eyes as you hand over the credit card. After that, its all easy, joy will be upon you.

Re: Fine Finish W/o Festool
I think that all of us, when we are making a decision, we unconsciously ask ourselves "how quickly will I get my return on my money with this product" If it's expensive and you can see that it will produce more for you, then it may justify itself. If you find something similar that will get close results, maybe negligible, then you will opt for the lower priced one.

Re: Fine Finish W/o Festool
I see whats going on here - nice try Bass. This thread is obviously just a ploy to get Festool to send Bass some tools for him to "review" - given his proclivity for writing articles in prominent trade magazines. I predict in a couple years Bass will have a complete arsenal of Festools and will not have paid a cent!

![]() Now if I can get everyone who has used one of my tips from the forums to send me a buck tip for each tip... then I might be able to be a Festoolian.

Re: Fine Finish W/o FestoolQuote:
As soon as a I can justify a Festool purchase that will pay for itself quickly... I'm in. My tool collection has most of the bases covered already. The Domino is interesting. It might justify itself, but much of what it does is done by tools I already have (biscuit joiner, Kreg jig, tenoning jig). Looking for the right job, that the Domino can do that the others can't. I'm trying to be a solo trim carp, set up and run a wood shop, and support a wife and kids... the budget is tight. Always a balancing act. I'm impressed by you Festoolians though, Bass |

Re: Fine Finish W/o FestoolQuote:
Good blades are a big part of my game plan! Of course the mind and skills of the carpenter are still the main thing. I once took first place in a cycling race on an old steel frame bicycle. The bike also had a "luggage rack" on it and even a bike lock hanging on it. I was wearing regular shorts and a t-shirt. I managed to beat a few hundred other guys who had expensive carbon fiber or aluminum bikes and spandex outfits... I was in better shape, so I won. Well, it also helped that it got windy during the race and a bunch of them had disk wheels that were bad in the wind. Anyway, it was amusing.

Re: Fine Finish W/o Festool For some reason my mind's eye is picturing lime green carbon fiber wheels with dual laser guided ground tracking

Re: Fine Finish W/o FestoolQuote:
That is goofy. If I you have a Festool router you would want to use the router guide and rail from Festool too. I have that EZ router guide and rail, but I use it with my Bosch plunge router. One nice thing about the EZ rail is that it is a heavy duty extrusion, compared to the Festool Rail. Not a big deal... I haul the rail around in a gun case so it is well protected when not in use. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OtfuVm_ShM All the best, Bass |
