Finally Sent This Job To Finish

Rift white oak kitchen and some other cabinets. Seems like it took forever. Some stuff was a pain but the details that I thought were a little odd actually turned out nice.

Looks great Gus. I see what you mean by the odd details. What is the finish schedule, colors, topcoat?

Re: Finally Sent This Job To Finish

Looks nice Gus,
You seem to be getting the clients go for the white/lighter cabinets.
It's got to be hard to determine what a customer will want
color wise, but it seems the west coast is going light, color wise.
As always, probably a sign of what's going to be next here.
I'm curios( spelling?) about the pigeon holes in the second pic.
Will like to see the finished install.
Thanks for sharing!

Re: Finally Sent This Job To Finish

I'm thinking the pigeon holes are to hold wine bottles, my guess. He never said it was a kitchen. When I saw the 1st pic I thought it was a desk.

Nice hose, the cabinets aren't too bad either.

I am still not sure how I feel about rift sawn oak.

The top picture is the sink base with dishwasher on the right.

Is that a flag on the pipe? Someone must have walked into one once and either did damage to themselfs, the cab or both...lol I can't say I have never done it..

I have been doing one white paint job after another for some time. Now we have rift white oak for a while. This job will go dark brown. I'll see if I can snap a pic of the sample.

There are four doors to cover that et center cab with the scoopped drawer fronts. Every finished end is mitered on to the frame but that et center is mitered at the top and frame as well as top to ends.
The wine storage normally has it's own vertical side panels. Not this one. Had to tie the trash cabinet to the tall drawer bank with the wine storage.
The wall panel was miter folded around the studded wall. That was fun.
The open tall cabinet has a back. But it is 1 1/2" flush everywhere. That was a pain.
The little details go on and on. Finished pics will not be for a few months. The house is being wired now.

Our next job is a monster sized rift oak one as well. Better material than this one. Over 130 panels are being laid up now. All exposed grain is horizontal. That one I'm more nervous than excited about. Mostly just about timing.

Really nice Gus. I like the wine storage. Better use than a filler
