Festool Buying Spree Continues

After purchasing the Kapex last week (by the way the lasers on that thing are worth the money alone... dead on)

This week I bought the TS 55 with additional rail, MFT/3, C12, and the ETS 125.

I don't know whats's in that kool-aid but it sure tastes good.... but please cut me off.

TS55 is 'da BOMB!!

I want it, I want it!

Maybe if I wait long enough, the phone will ring with enough business to justify the expense.
Nah, I'll just use my credit card; I didn't REALLY want to pay for it anyway.

Step back, take a breath, ok you will be good for about 1 week.

The C12 will become your best friend.

Still doing some experimenting with my MFT/3, for a stupid table with holes in, it sure is darn handy.

My buddy has the c12. It pretty nice. All the different chucks is a positive and negative at the same time. Nice to have the capability but you always seem to be switching, so much so he bought a second c12. I have a love/hate relationship with the electronic clutch. When it reaches the torque limit it shuts off the motor. I like using my Makita's clutch, driving into wood is never an exact thing and if the screw doesn't drive all the way you just keep it going and it acts like a impact and slowly drives the screw flush. Working on metal it would be precise for torquing nuts and bolts. The battery seems to last forever. It is not a very strong drill, he was trying to use a 3" holesaw and the electronic protection kept shutting the motor down. My Makita burned the hole without a problem. Probably not a fair shake though. The c12 is 12 volts and my Makita is 18v. All in all, it is a descent drill. It should be, as all Festools, they cost an arm and a leg.

Re: Festool Buying Spree Continues

The C-12 has an automatic shut down feature, if the drill is getting hot, it beeps and shuts down.

Battery life is the best I have ever experienced.

The clutch takes a bit to get used to but, after that it is all right.

Right in the catalouge, Festool says max bit diameter in wood is 1".

I will agree, this drill is not for punching huge holes.

C-12 is 12 volts but, I think it is more powerfull than most other 18v NiCd's.

It will twist itself right out of your hand and slam on the ground running in some 6" GRK structural screws.

Don't pay attention to Leo. He just can't put down the hooch long enough to taste the sweetness of the kool-aid.

The C12 is now $355 and a couple of extra chucks are $98 each... so $551 plus tax/shipping.

For less money, I'd go for this:

Re: Festool Buying Spree Continues

Except Lithium Ion sucks.

Seriously, Li-on is worthless in the cold, cordless circular saws are worthless, cordless sawsalls are worthless.

The only 2 decent things in that set is the drill and flashlight.

Not ragging on Makita, I just dont like Lithium Ion.
