Been around for many years. Not a toy, but a real tool.

I wouldn't be without one. Makes life so much easier. Paid for itself 10X over. Blades are way too expensive. I picked up the cheap version on amazon without the quick-in for $250.

Re: Fein MultiMaster Tool

I have noticed most finish carpenters / cabinet installers cant live without once they own it. Pretty much seals the deal for me.

Re: Fein MultiMaster Tool

I've met more then a few "converts" asking why they would need it when they've gone so long without it.
When they finally break down and buy one (for whatever reason) their comments are all pretty much the same,

"I wish I'd bought it sooner".

Re: Fein MultiMaster Tool

Never thought about one at all till I got one for Christmas, (my sister works for Fein). My first thought was, yeah it will have some uses, but probably just be a certain niche.
I was wrong.
I break that sucker out on just about every job now since I got it.

Re: Fein MultiMaster Tool

great tool but over priced.
Get one of the clones now that patent expired.
The fein better but not by so much compared to the harbour frieght one for $40.00

Only time will tell if the copy/knock-off is any good.

Would you put a knock-off off hood ornament on your Mercedes 500 SL?

Re: Fein MultiMaster Tool

Great tool.
Ever install a cabinet in an existing home and have to cut the base in place at the finished end ?
For years I used the Japanese saw then a knife and chisel. Hated every one. Now that one chore makes owning this tool worth the $.

anybody got a scoop on the best deal on blades?

Supercut has a lot more power. The newer Multi-Master has a tool-less blade change feature, where the Supercut does not. The downside is the blades are proprietary. The Multi-Master blades are interchangeable with some of the new knock off designs. That being said, you can get Japanese tooth Supercut blades at multiblades.com for about $11.25 ea. shipped.

Fein is the best one out there. It's expensive, yes, but you get what you pay for. It's a quality tool, made in Germany, not China!

Us??,... or ME?
Tell you what, I'll let you get beat up and smacked around by her for 6 or 7 years ,...then well talk. I payed my dues.

But really now,.... they dont sell direct so there are no employee discounts. She has a distributor/retailer in Pittsburgh that gives the company employees the break. Its not a whole lot either. I get the cheap blades for the crap work ( cutting nail and **** like that) and try to use the $$ ones for the nicer stuff.

Re: Fein MultiMaster Tool

Had it a day now and already wondering how I didn't get one sooner. The worst part is reflecting on old jobs this would have been perfect for.
