Re: Dovetails From Cnc

Looks good Gus. A little weird, but good. I actually like the stripes in the plywood on the dovetails. I think it gives it a nice contrast look. You can see the dovetails very specifically. When I make it out of the high ply plywood I don't bother taping the upper edge, just leave the plies exposed. I haven't made a wood drawer in a while. The labor for doing them out of the plywood makes it worth the effort to have the dovetails.

I am just about ready to start some up myself. Only a few dovetail drawers, the rest will be pocket screw drawers, I even make those difficult to make

I can't tell you how glad I am that you like them. I can get some sleep finally.
I want you to have one of these machines ,Leo.
I will not be edgebanding the top either. Sand them a little and oil.

The notch is my next project. That will be some custom programing via whats called a UCS (user created standard). The hole I'll have to do with the Blum jig cuz it's on the other side of the part than the dado and all the tails. Not worth flipping them and running a backside op just for those 2 holes.

How could I extend credit to you knowing your addiction problems?

Prepay with a cashier's check and we can deal.

Danish oil or lemon oil with bee's wax. Still needs to be worked out but I like the looks of the natural Danish oil.

Am I messing up?

I can see wipe on poly, maybe.

We are only talking about the tops and tails. Boxes are prefinished plywood.

Even 3000 miles away I am solving your problems. This weeks paycheck better be bigger than the last one.
