Decorative Stair Risers,

Does anyone have a source for decorative stair risers, I need to quote replacing some existing ones that look like they were carved out to look like raised panel, painted black, then drum sanded to reveal the unfinished wood everywhere but in the carved area.

I am sure I could make them, but would like to know if it is worth the effort, BTW, the HO said that these are not custom, she chose them out of a catalogue some 20 years ago.

Thanks in advance.....Kevin

Re: Decorative Stair Risers,

Are you certain that the panels aren't applied to a housed stringer?, that would seem to be the easiest way to do it.

Re: Decorative Stair Risers,

I'll get there to get some pics....the description was from one of my carpenters, I havent seen it yet, he insists that they were routered in below the surface. I was hoping to bring a catalogue over that had some option for my first visit.
