Custom Cab Doors/drawer Fronts

I dont do a ton of cabinets but when I do I usually can handle simple shaker doors/drawer style fronts. Have a customer that wants more detail, raised panel/beaded frame. Was going to build the boxes and order the doors/drawer fronts. Never done this before. Looked at some of suggestions from searches but seemed more geared to local suppliers. Anyone have luck ordering from Rockler? Any other suggestions for online suppliers? Thanks.

I do not have experience with getting cabinet parts from Rockler, but they have a good reputation with everything else they provide. Around here we use a local company named Conestoga to provide doors and drawer fronts, and in some cases the drawer boxes. I bet there is a similar supplier in your area.

I would check localy. There HAS to be some good door manufacturers in the Boston area and you would be surprised how reasonable they will be by the time you factor your expenses for the raised panel bits and what not !

Re: Custom Cab Doors/drawer Fronts

Alboston, I'm like you; for painted cabinets I build all my own doors i.e. raised panel, shaker, etc. But for wood finish doors in cherry, oak, maple, etc I get all my doors and drawer fronts from RefaceDepot.com I don't think you can find a better made and finished door out there. You can get them finished in several stains or unfinished. They have the widest selection of styles I have found also. I buy all my refacing supplies from them. I would show a picture of a kitchen I did with their doors/drawers but I don't have the required number of posts. (Who thought up that rule?) You can go to my website and look under "Kitchen and Bath Refacing" to see the pics.

I build my own drawers, drawer fronts, and doors. You can purchase router bits or shaper bits depending on your set-up and the volume of work you do from a variety of suppliers. Their is a commercial jig and bit available for beading the cabinet face frames or you can do them on a router table. Maybe this is a chance to expand you range of services? I get a fair amount of just drawer and door work from people looking to spruce up out-dated cabinets without completely gutting the kitchen or that just need to replace a couple of broken ones.

Hey Trim40, do you pick your doors up from Walzcraft or have them shipped? If shipped, how are their shipping prices, say for an average order for kitchen doors? Just curios, they look like they have some nice stuff.
