Curved Stairs
Hey everyone I'm new here. I have a 3story curved handrail to build, Brazilian Cherry, 6' rad. contemporary style. initial lamination will be 4- 1/4" layers 6" wide, makeing up 1" with 3 more 1/4 " lams makeing up the finger hold, it'll be wall mounted so spring back isnt a severe prob but will over bend anyway, but not sure what glue I should use. I usually go with titebond 2 or 3 but open to suggestions. anyone? what are your thots?

Re: Curved Stairs
West system epoxy.
It won't creep, is slow to cure and will allow you adjust as needed. Just wear gloves. |

Re: Curved Stairs
Don't use Titebond, you might end up with joint creep. Use UniBond 800, it is what it is designed for.

Re: Curved Stairs
just wanted to thank everyone who wrote and offered suggestions on my stair work. Bent the last of my handrail yestereday, so far its all gone very well. I used the west system epoxy and its been great, no guessing on the mix, used 105/206/and microfiber. had plenty of work time with it. Leo thanks for the suggestion for thinner/more layers, had my millworks co. cut all the bending rail to 3/16, worked well. I'll be posting pics soon on the job so far.

Re: Curved Stairs
We demand pics of the process and when it is done. Very cool.
