Crown Molding Value Added

Does anyone have a ballpark figure as to the monetary value that crown molding adds to home? I am sure that there are many factors that are involved. I just wanted to get a basic idea.

How much does it cost to install crown moulding in a home?

That depends on how many linear ft., the number of corners/scarf joints, height of ceiling, quality of materials.

In reality it will add zero dollars to the value of a home. The percieved value may be something, but real appraised value? Appraised values are heavily weighted by similiar sold homes in the neighborhood. An appraiser doesn't usually have an add for crown molding. However, condition effects the value also, so a totally perfect house will be worth more than the same house in a bit run down or ugly duckling shape.

Nice moldings will make a home more attractive to a potential buyer and, as such, has some value.
I flip a house about every 3 mos. and moldings go into all of them. To lock a price to the value that they have is nearly impossible but my homes sell within a week, generally.
