Paint grade?

How fast can you do it?

I can make great money at 4.50/l.f. for crown and 1.75-2.00/l.f. base if it is paint grade. This job sounds like 5-6k to me. I could do it in a working week with ease with a helper.

Is that 854 ft of crown and 854 ft of base? If so, that's like $6K for labor. That's just to give you an idea without knowing any specifics of the job.

I started out thinking you guys were high bids, but then I did some math, and I came out around $5k too.

PAINT GRADE
854 LF of crown = $4,270 and 854 LF of Base moulding = $1,494.50

STAIN GRADE
854 LF of crown = $6,405 and 854 LF of base moulding = $2,562

These are New York city residential prices. If, I sub the work out its about half that price. It will take me, and a helper about 2 days to install the paint grade mouldings, and about 3-4 days for stain grade.

Re: Crown And Base Moulding

It should NEVER be with prep and paint. We're not painters. Only thing I might do is carry around a little can of stain in case my mitres on finish grade stuff has a little raw wood showing.

I need to move where you guys are trimming. Crown $8/ft ?? I'd be a rich man in NO time... damn. Me and my guy could run this crown in two days easily. Do it all the time.
