Creating Custom Trim

any guys out there still make their trim profiles with a router and 1x or whatever material the homeowner has chosen versus a stock profile from the yard? Ran into a few of these in the past few months and was wondering...

I make some for small jobs, like a custom desk, cabinets or what ever, but not for a larger project. most don't like to pay me for my time in it.

I hear ya, but when they do it sure makes that job enjoyable... so much more detail and personal touch can shine through the work

Yup, same here. I love those jobs where you can take your time and really pay attention to the extra detail!

Re: Creating Custom Trim

I've done it for a couple of small bathrooms. High baseboards in the rest of the house, but using a 3/4" x 6 or 7 with a top looks odd in a small bath. I planed the 3/4 down to 5/8 x 4 1/2 or 5 (don't remember off hand....gave it a totally different look
