Cathedral Ceiling LIghting

I am remodeling a 14X22' Family Room to have a cathedral ceiling. The roof above is 5/12 with 2X6 rafters. The new room is going to be used to play pool in and I am unsure the best route to go where the lighting is concerned. qed: the pool table needs direct lighting... Any ideas???

How about a proper pool table light, suspended from the peak in the typical manner? Use the Arlington cathedral ceiling box.

I'd go with MDShunks idea with maybe some high end cable track lighting to brighten up the room.

Yes, you'll definately need some cans for the general lighting if you're going to use a big pool table light as the "feature" light.

A word on cans for cathedral ceilings.... use either "slope ceiling cans" or regular cans with eyeball trim. If you use a regular can with a regular trim, the light will shine out on an angle (right into your eyes) instead of straight down. The slope ceiling cans OR a regular can with an eyeball trim will shine the light downwards where it belongs.

Cutaway view of a slope ceiling can (which also needs the accompanying slope ceiling trim):
