Bevel Edge Counter


whats the best way to cut a laminate counter bevel edge so i don;t see any seams?there will be 2 strips on the front edge,should i start at the bottom?

I buy my beveled edge from Wilsonart. Cut a 1/4 inch groove in the front edge of the counter and install the front edge with the bevel with glue. Finish the top edge with 600 paper.

Mike,

Assuming that the seams you are talking about is the black line of the laminate itself then the only way to hide it is with a miterfolded edge product. The company I use is Kuehn and they will make custom beveled edges out of just about any laminate out there. Without specialized equipment you would have a hard time doing it yourself.

The turn around time from the factory is 5 days and it runs about $33.00 for a 12' length. Just be careful the stuff is about as sharp as a razor blade.

You can use v-32 laminate to minimize the black line (dark colors also help hide the line) but as far as back beveling goes I doubt you would be able to keep it straight enough to look good.

yeh,that miterfold is sweet.i.am using a black granite look laminate.I don't think the seams will be much of an issue. thnx.
