Bathroom 'in Use' Notification

Any one have an idea or have used some type of door knob, sign, light, etc. that notifies people that the bathroom is in use. Commercial build out using two unisex bathrooms. Owner is looking for some type of easy way of letting someone know the bathroom is being used without having to grab the doorknob and turn. Any suggestions, please.
Thanks

I think he wants to be able to SEE before grabing the handle. It would also need to be automatic like on a port-o-john right?

How about?

I also seem to remember a story about a bathroom door with an lcd panel that was clear when unlocked and turned frosted when the lock was thrown.

I don't know what you call them, but they have those deadbolt type latches that display "Occupied" and "Vacant" in a little window on the outside when someone's in the restroom. The only place I see them is in unisex bathrooms in office buildings.

Here we go... "indicator deadbolts"":

Screw that, let's go high tech. put one of those laser beams that shoots across the toilet and all over the room. If someone's in there, the beams are broken, then there's one of those scrolling LED displays outside that says "crapper in use"

I was always taught to knock first, apparently that has gone out of fashion.

Is this bathroom for cats?
If so, no problem they share.

Just put a cam pointed at the john with the monitor outside the door. I bet they'd have the same roll of toilet paper they started with after 3 years.

This reminds me of something George Carlin said.

"When did toilet paper become bathroom tissue?"

I agree with Hobroom...a lock...or just remove the doors all together ...we are all adults...

Framerman...what is this paper or tissue for the toilet you speak of ?

my wife prefers ..the new moisty wipes....she buys mine from Home depot

GOOGLE "BRIGHTHANDLE ALFA". THE HANDLE GLOWS NEON GREEN WHEN UNLOCKED, AND RED WHEN LOCKED. A LITTLE PRICEY, BUT VERY COOL.

Mount a standard light bulb on the wall, above the door. Tie it to the bathroom lights switch.

How about a 'Do not disturb' door hanger swiped from a hotel?
