Back To School Project (kid Desk)

I made a knock down kid desk today. Nothing fancy, a simple corner desk with three legs. This plan could all be cut from a single sheet of 3/4" plywood (I used a 4x4' piece of MDF for the top and a 4x4' piece of ply for the legs). Cut up some left over balusters for the shelf support.

Hey Bass,

Those look like those miter saw stand legs you taught me how to build?

About 2-3 hrs... painting the thing will take about that long too. Maybe 5-10 to knock it down flat.

I doubt that if I designed for IKEA that I'd be hanging out here... their furniture may be cheap, but I bet the designs are expensive.

Yep... I just keep repeating myself... The new desk legs are just 7-1/4" wide (rotated 45* they make a 5-1/2" leg... if that makes sense). The desk legs are 29-1/4" tall for a 30" desk with the top added. Here is that drawing that shows the legs for the saw station (if anyone else wants to see it--it has wider and taller legs shown--but they are basically the same):

What flavor of pocket screws did you use ? I have never had good luck screwing into MDF, the screws I use seem to spin out rather easily

I just used coarse 1-1/4" Kregs... seems OK... If they loosen up, I might should cross them in from both sides of each leg fin... if that statement made sense.

This is my 9th graders desk... so I can keep an eye on it.
