Adhesive For Split Columns

I am putting up several split fiberglass columns around some downspouts. This is the first time I have ever had to use the split ones, done numerous types of one piece and custom built columns, but never these.

Question is.......what is best to adhere the two halves together? I thought about epoxy, but is there a good one that is sandable? I tried regular liquid nails and was gonna just bondo the seams, but the glue popped the next day. Then I tried Locktite Instant Grab, but again it looked great the next morning but an hour or so after I pulled off the straps it too popped loose.

Any help or product suggestions would be greatly appreciated, getting really frustrated here.................

Lee

System Three epoxy or PL poly adhesivehttp://www.stickwithpl.com/ProductsL...TION-ADHESIVES Liquid Nail is Poo Poo. Looks like the tub surround would be your best bet. We've used the sub floor & deck for the fiberglass one's before. The big Orange box carries PL check with boating store for a good epoxy (West System or System 3) Try it out an some scraps if you have any around. Good luck
