Yelp has now gotten so aggressive in their calling i dont answer any phone call not from my local area...they are calling daily!!!!....i finally took a minute to tell the guy im not interested in what he is selling and he argued he is not selling me anything...he is HELPING ME.......my response--CLICK

they are now worse than Angies List (who has finally left me alone)

go on your yelp page. then go on facebook and a yelp ad will pop up for $300 in free yelp ads. You can find out if it works for free. The problem with it is they say that a click for my keywords cost $27. That $300 will go quick.

Good to know. I am just trying to get yelp reviews. If it doesn't work, I have no intention of keep advertising with them. It ill end up costing hundreds of dollars for a few reviews.

[QUOTE=AaronHockel;5866073]This is an area that is of growing importance to every contractor. Google is actively using reviews right now in terms of local SEO for placement in map based searches and regular organic rankings. They index the content and quantity of reviews to help establish local prominence which is a stated local SEO factor.

Yes, but this has been this way for some time. Google Reviews will take precedence over Facebook Reviews and the other Reviews, but it will add cosmetic appeal to the Mapping Results when it shows Reviews from Multiple Sources.

We've definitely gotten a few great leads from Yelp before, but I don't know anyone who's advertised on Yelp and stuck with it long term.

yelp is ball**** , I use it only to add some reviews ,

if your customer is not an active yelp user then their review will be FILTERED .

my customers dont have yelp accounts , I dont think they have time to play on the computer .

Re: YELP Keeps Calling Me. Anyone Actually Get Business In The Trades From Them?

Started a campaign with them over a month ago. I pay 500 a month and have not gotten one lead or call from them. I wouldn't waste your money. I am going to pay the the 700 cancel fee and bail. Most of these lead sites will let you post your company for free and get organic traffic. I would start there and have a great looking bit simple content page. Don't overwhelm the potential client with too much reading, you want these people to go to your capture page and complete their information. You can get someone from Google to do it for 500 to 700 dollars. I paid something like that I believe and I have two amazing people either posting content or branding the company name. I am extremely new in this industry and found it to be interesting to say the least. Promoting any business isint easy and don't let anyone tell any different. I will tell you what the Golden key is.... getting out of your comfort zone, hand out flyers, have a call to action or some coupon they can cut out with a time limit.
Don't expect to get a big responce on the first try and every week continue to pass out mailbox flyers. Hire high school kids, pay some money and have a nice pizza party after. I hope this helps.

All things are relative, it depends what other advertising options you have... but I'd rather spend my advertising dollars nearly anywhere but on yelp!

I agree with focusing more on the Google reviews. It's social validation. I do it every time I am shopping on Amazon. When someone searches in google and your business doesn't quite appear at the top but you have more reviews than them, the natural tendency is to go with the business that has already been proven. It's safer. Just my .02
