Question

Yellow Pages Or Yellow Book

Yellow Pages or Yellow Book.
I've got a couple of salesmen hot on my tail.
I have spent some serious cash on Yellow Pages, but I think I will try the Yellow Book, less competitive, better range. Anyone care to comment?

Re: Yellow Pages Or Yellow Book

Whichever book is physically smaller, has lower circulation and covers less area is the winner. I have had the best success with Verizon's book. I did an extensive survey on the topic and interviewed about 300 customers, friends and business people. Most people said the books with higher distribution were too cumbersome to handle and had too many listings to sift through. The business owners said that they prefered hiring local and that books like verizon (which breaks down Delaware County where I live into the have's and the have-nots (east/west). Business owners felt more comfortable doing business with people that shared their demographic.

Re: Yellow Pages Or Yellow Book

The yellow pages over here in Australia seems ok, if you have the BIG adds (which means big money).

There was the "Big Colour Pages" over here afew years back. It was smaller and had a lower circulation. It has now since disapeared because i think of that. I thnk it published colour before the yellow pages and that still did not help. Don't quote me on that.

Personally I have not had much response from the Yellow Pages. Even though this years edition we have upgrade our add with greater size and colour. We'll see what happens.

Re: Yellow Pages Or Yellow Book

we're in both yellow pages and yellow book
under 3 different headings with business card size ads

yellow book has a good deal on google / yahoo pay per click
set monthly fee and they work out the numbers / keywords to get you at top of search rankings in set cities in your location
