Re: Yard Signs, Full Color And Fancy Or 2 Color Easy To Read?
Curapa, I honestly didn't read ALL the remarks, so I hope I don't repeat. I can give you experience from two points of view.
When I was a contractor, my logo was black and white. Not because I was so smart, but because I wanted a very clean look for my bathtub refinishing business. And fortunately, black lettering on a white enclosed trailer and white truck worked real well. It also worked real well on yard signs. And luckily, it was the cheapest option. And now I am a printer, and as I am sure you have found out, color and multi-colors gets expensive quick. Here are my suggestions: 1. Get as many signs as you can for your dollars. 2. This means going with 1-color signs. Two signs will get you more business than one real pretty one. 3. Buy durable signs. Get signs you can leave out for weeks, not days, in all types of weather to get as much mileage as you can. 4. Only essential info. Logo, name, website, #. People will not absorb much more than that. 5. It's expensive, but look at the price breaks when you get 100's of signs. Don't get 50 at a time. Good luck. |

Re: Yard Signs, Full Color And Fancy Or 2 Color Easy To Read?
I purchased one from Vistaprint. Thanks for the tip! I used it last week and got a call to bid on 1000 s.f. flooring. Awesome. I bought the smaller size (12" x 18" ?) but think the bigger one would have been better. Still, I have gotten a call, so I am not complaining.

Not to be a dick, but what's with the people wearing masks? That would scare me as a consumer. Also I think you can do without the stuff on the bottom. I like to keep it simple with: Name Phone # website Remember people are driving at 40mph+. |

Re: Yard Signs, Full Color And Fancy Or 2 Color Easy To Read?
Thanks, buddy 110. I have never had anyone be fearful of the safety equipment we use. We have, in fact, been commended for being attentive of the hazards present in the work we do. While others in the trade go without ear/eye/respitory protection, we prefer to be seen as careful and educated. As funny as it may seem, our customers appreciate that we are not simply 'laborers', but quintessential professionals, not unlike themselves.
You are correct in observing our sign's inappropriate layout, if we hope to target consumers driving past at a high rate of speed. The sign works well with the slow-paced residents of the neighborhood we work in this week, but who knows what the following week may bring? If we are working in a home beside a highway, our current sign will be all but useless.

Re: Yard Signs, Full Color And Fancy Or 2 Color Easy To Read?
And for clarification, I'll only need a few signs at a time max....I'm not putting them at intersections, on telephone poles etc, they'll just be used for current client's homes or where I have permission.
So, $14-20 a pop isn't a big deal, where if I needed 100-1,000 of 'em it might be. |

Re: Yard Signs, Full Color And Fancy Or 2 Color Easy To Read?
I'm not sure how much vistaprint would be for 100, but it would probably be close to that price for that many, as the cost goes down with volume.
24x30 would be nice, as the ones I got are 18x27 |
