Written Quotes
hey guys and gals,
just wondering what type of written quotes you deliver to your prospective clients.....a simple hand written detailing materials planning on being used , or something typed up on the computer and printed and signed? anyone using a custom letterhead, pre printed then additional info added and signed??? anyone have a sample for me??? i have put out about a dozen quotes this year so far and nothing back yet..i think it might have to do with my lack of letterhead....any suggestions let me know.... thanks guys |

Re: Written QuotesQuote:
Sounds to me like it's the lack of you asking for the sale. Not the lack of a letterhead. Our estimates are a minimum of 9 pages. (I don't care if it's for 3 replacement windows) It's at least 9 pages and is extremely detailed. It is also delivered in person and read to them line by line and if they have any questions we are there to answer them. GUESS WHAT.........Our price is always too high. It doesn't matter if it's $1,000, $10,000 or $50,000.........It's always too high. That's the only thing customers understand. Richard Kaller used to say theat customers weren't born with construction manuals in their heads. They understand Money and they know to say it's too high even if they have higher prices. You need to be in front of them to explain why your price is your price and why they should buy from you.

Re: Written Quotes
I agree with you. The more detailed estimate, the more the customer feels you are professional and are a detail-oriented company.
I give rough estimates by phone or email. This works for Handyservices. If you want a detailed, written estimate (in-home), then I charge a small fee. This does away with the tire kickers. Good Luck. |

Re: Written QuotesQuote:
If you are wanting something simple, with letterhead, that you can hand write on, check out NEBS.com. They offer inexpensive, boilerplate forms. |
