"Winter Sale"

Yesterday I sent out #800 10% off "winter sale" postcards to previous customers. It was a $310.00 investment in postage & printing. Just got my first two acceptance calls on previous painting estimates I had submitted. Only a gross of $2,500.00 so far, but things look good!

I'm sending out 2000 Monday and Hope they work. Things slowing down around here.
Anybody use the "pre sort" postage? I think you have to mail 250pcs. at a time. If so, does it save any $$$?

Gratz man! You might want to consider getting your past clients emails with thier permission and you can keep them updated on stuff. Plus it's virtually free to do that exact mail, via email. It will also gaurantee the person who makes the decison sees the ad.

Great job for sending to previous clients. It's the way to go for sure.

I find I also like to ask if I can "text" them as well. Just like an email but most get it much quicker...

Somebody once told me to try & time the post cards to arrive on a Saturday. They are less likley to be thrown in the trash because the HO has more time to read the mail.

I'm also scheduling myself to be in the office all day on Monday. My experience has been that about 80% of my calls come in on a Monday......

Just an update on my mailing to previous customers. Total sales, including the 10% off is $6,912.00 & I'm still getting calls.

How much of that is new leads vs. previous estimates that they were sitting on?

Decent ROI, especially for january.

Two jobs totaling $2,895.00 from previous estimates. #7 leads from the cards & #3 sales so far.

I was thinking about doing something like this. It sounds like a good idea.

Thats why I posted. I use Quickbooks & can print address lables for my entire customer base. I send about 4-5 postcards to my past customers throughout the year reminding them of me. I like to keep up front & in there face!

Re: "Winter Sale"

Wow glad to see you guys and gals mailing to your existing client base. We do this on a grand scale every month but with different offers each month.

Post cards with 4 color graphics or before and after pictures are the way to go also.

Also try doing 8.5x11 inserts in the newspaper. The cost is less then postcards. We pay with printing anywhere from .18 to .39 cents each. and you pick the zip codes.

Put both of these to work for you on auto pilot and the phones ring off the hook.

Good Luck.

Re: "Winter Sale"

I have thought about doing somthing similar to that. I try to lean more to the remodeling end of the construction profession. I have considered handing them out to realtors. Only offer the realtor a "finders fee" for a job. We used to do a bunch of work for real estate closings, as an electrician, that paid well. We would get a punch list ranging from things as small as replacing broken device covers to changing services. The list always came due to a home inspection and the check way paid out of the lawyer's escrow for the closing costs. Never lost a dime on these jobs plus you get another contact. Most people buy a home and jump right into remodeling it. Who do the call? "The nice guy that came at the drop of the hat and fixed those things so nicely so we could move into the house on time."
