Re: Who's Using Your Words?
Nice link. I found a few people using words and images from my websites. Infact a few people from this forum have helped me out and sent me links of copies.
When they copy my text I just laugh. But when they copy my images I get furious. That's infringement to the maximum, especially when some jer copied my trade marked logo. |

Holy crap this site found a few more knock offs!
Looks like these guys stole the text right off my page... http://glenallancompany.com/griptite/ Last edited by Grumpy; 11-19-2007 at 10:00 AM. Reason: added links of the culprits. |

Re: Who's Using Your Words?
Wet, You mean like people marketing to areas in PA they do not service so they can achieve a better hit rate? Or perhaps you mean using the URL of company you envy to try and get website hits? You are right, these are crappy things to do. They show the character of the person.

Re: Who's Using Your Words?
I have a related question. UK law, can someone else use a picture of me laying a floor? I know of 2 sites that use a photograph of me taken years ago and both appear to make out that the layer (me) is one of their team. never done anything about it cos don't know where to start.

Re: Who's Using Your Words?
Thanks for that Wetwash. I'll wade my way through it to see if it includes anything about my question, although it seems to deal more with the author/copywriter.

Cybersquatting.
http://www.nolo.com/article.cfm/pg/2...1/228/195/ART/ Protect your name, product and services. If there is a domain name you want, buy it. Domain names build equity under the right circumstance. When starting a business I recommend selecting a unique name and checking to see if that name is available as a domain. If your domain names being used check to see if that company or person is willing to sell always remain professional even when things aren’t going your way. |

I think this website may be some kind of prototype, if you go to the main page it's some web designer. Maybe defunct since his site doesn't work properly either. However I sent a cease and desist (sp) email to every contact I could find on the sites. |

Re: Who's Using Your Words?
Here are the phone numbers and the location of the roofing company.
The location was not on the link you posted, but on the glenallan directory site. Ed

Re: Who's Using Your Words?
Recently I did some google searches for some of the head line tags and text that's in my website. When the results of the search were returned I founnd 3 websites that copy pasted word for word text from two websites that I own.
I promptly emailed them and asked them to remove my content. Two of them immediatly removed the content, one claimed it was his content and refused. Jerk! Did some searching and found this site. It's great becuase now I have a way to prove that my content was on the internet before those who stole it started using it. http://www.archive.org/web/web.php Last edited by RidgeWalker; 12-03-2007 at 11:19 AM. |

Re: Who's Using Your Words?
Now thats what's good about the web. Instead of people using their skills to hack etc. here we have someone willing to develop software to help people.
Good find, mate.
