Re: What Do You Think About My Website?

I will be nice - first off not to many people know you & they are lazy when it comes to clicking user name, visit homepage

So it is 3 pages - 1 is blank, hard to read phone number on a small pic, you don't care about your company name or the city you live in as they are not capitalized, aren't you guys required to post your license #? & it looks like you spent maybe an hour on it

Why does it want me to install a Media Player extension?

The good news - you got one up & with some tweaking it can be great

Re: What Do You Think About My Website?

I don't like it. Only three pages, one is blank and the second only has 3 pics and one loads real slow.

For the others: Here is the link:
http://www.screenworksunlimited.com

Try working on it a bit more. Also pay attention to your footer. I don't see any keywords or meta description either. How are people going to find it?

I think you will want to work on the site more. Ask yourself these questions and put the answers on your web site:
  • What do customers ask from me when I go on an estimate?
  • What do they want to see?
  • What do I tell them about me?
  • What information can I share with them about the product?

Re: What Do You Think About My Website?

I think it is a good start.

Yahoo has some recommendations for their search engine. You may have an advantage in that they are hosting your site.

There is a typo in the word protection.

Make changes to your site incrementally. This aged brain is just now trying to learn about it. If you aren't careful, working on it can be a big time suck.

A lot of the contractors here know more than you would think about optimizing and marketing websites. Just search the forums -- there is enough information to keep you busy for a while.

If you get tired of editing your site, Google has some great information here on improving your chances of people finding it.

Re: What Do You Think About My Website?

It can be found if somebody uses this grouping of words in their search.
"Home improvement, Screen Works Unlimited,"

Yahoo must be in there 20 times, and it isn't related to your site, or product.

I've heard it can be hard to transfer a dotcom from yahoo to a real registrar. No facts, just rumor.

Re: What Do You Think About My Website?

  • Good pictures
  • loads a bit slow
  • blocking off half the page with a blue sidebar seems kind of weird
  • I give it a B because it's still serving its purpose of showing a portfolio of work (sort of) and it shows people how to contact you

Re: What Do You Think About My Website?

You know, on the internet a picture is not worth 1000 words.

But if it were I would trade 20 pictures for 20,000 words any day.

Make sure you describe what you do, why you are special, etc. etc. because you cannot expect a layperson to understand your work from a few pictures.

So instead of a picture of a nice kitchen describe in detail how you built that kitchen, what decisions you make, why you made those etc.
