Website Lead Tracking
I just received a lead from our website and made an appointment
to see the job. I checked our web tracking and found out how long this customer spent on every page of the website. Since most of us need 1 to 3 leads a day it doesn't take a lot of time to research a lead sometimes before they even call. Talk about qualifying a lead! Is it an unfair advantage or just anticipating the prospects needs before they are even expressed to us. To take it even further, is it possible to structure a website in a way to collect all kinds of info about the prospect without their knowledge? No personal info, just info about what they are interested in. Is it ethical? George Painting in Toronto Last edited by George Z; 02-26-2005 at 03:00 PM. |

Re: Website Lead Tracking
I have site traffic tracked through www.sitemeter.com I get too many hits per day, 60 unique visotors on average, to know which person requesting which estimate was which visitor.
I recently had a web developer code something for me that when the customer sends an e-mail through any web form it will also submit the referring URL they came from. For example if it came from google, it will tell me the exact page they came from. I think it is highly ethical! Just about everyone does it. I can always later expand on the program I had written for me to track much more information, but at this point none of that is important to me. |

Re: Website Lead TrackingQuote:
In fact it gives you a lot more, even postal codes. If you get the prospect's address you should be able to see where each prospect has been even with the existing technology. ours is http://www.web-stat.com/ Of course we only get about 20 hits a day so it is easier. George www.ecopainting.ca |
