Just keep in mind what you catch with them might be what you would normally want to throw back in.

We use them and here are the results

43 leads, 11 sales for $140,617.00

These are expensive leads though. the cost for 43 leads was $19,000.00

That's $441.86 per lead or $1,727.27 per sale

That's 12.2%
We budget 10% so that's a little high for us but our total average is much better than 10% so Val-Pak will stay in the mix until I can find something better. We need about 1400 leads per year so we use a lot of different sources. Internet leads and face to face marketing (Home Shows, Fairs, Festival, Flower SHows, Boat Shows, etc.) is what keeps the numbers down. Face to Face is a lot of work but the most rewarding..............37% of our business has come from this this year. We try to be at show EVERY weekend.

Not sure if this link is still good, but this was a program that was set up for us BM painters orginally, now its open for anyone I think. You pick your flyer type, add your name & number, it then redirects you to the canada post site, you pick your homes you want it delivered to, pay with your credit card, then out it goes... I personally have never tried it so I can't say I recommend it, or not.

I talked to them extensively.
It is similar to what Quantum mail has in the US, but way more expensive.
Decided not to use it and it was also way too tied to B. Moore.

Re: Valupak Or Other Coupon Mailers?

seems to me people would get the flyer and just head to Benjamin Moore rather than call you.

I haven't used Val-Pack but we have the Carolina Money Saver down here which is similar.

It goes out to 75,000 homes and is $25 per week for a 16 word ad.
It goes out every thursday.
The last two weeks we had three calls. None turned to jobs, yet.
But it did get a response.
Not too bad price wise.

we'll stick with it for the next month

then no ads December and January

we'll start back up advertising mid february

Re: Valupak Or Other Coupon Mailers?

My val pak update, 4 months to 50,000 homes= 200,000 of my ads somewhere in the landfills. Each month I was one of 14 or so homeimprovement companies that advertised.

received 3 phone calls
showed the product twice
sold one job for $6480(total job price, product and labor included)
cost of valpak ad $4410

Lots of red ink on this investment!
