Re: Twitter

There are tools to help better manage Twitter - Like Tweetdeck. You can create groups of people you follow, their tweets will all be in one column. You also see all the replies to you, or where you are mentioned. And you can set up a column that searches for specific words. Just a suggestion!

If something is so time consuming that I need something to manage it what does that say about it?

Twitter sucks Twit out

Re: Twitter

I use it to show time-stamped notes on the sidebar of the home page.

Just the latest two messages are displayed. Maybe a message two days ago when they started a new project or three days ago when are promoting some event in the area.

Nothing too elaborate and they can send them from a cell phone very quickly.

Shows people they are still around and working.

Re: Twitter

Twitter and Facebook, social media -- it's just another market.

Everyone is welcome to ignore it, but I don't know many small business owners who have enough business to ignore entire markets.

OakForest is planting lantana for Mrs Daniels. How would it look in your flower garden? Check out Lantana on Wikipedia!

OakForest is hiding behind a hedge to potty, so in the meantime click here to see some pics of our recent work!

anyways, you get the idea -- its best to think of it as instant marketing opportunity!

Re: Twitter

Twitter when combined with a few other tools can be very useful in marketing your business. I actually use it almost every day. The trick is to use other 3rd party tools and sites to "monitor" what people are looking for or requesting. You would be amazed at what comes from these sources. The process is a bit long to describe all of the tools that combine into this system, but because I have been asked this so often I did include this as part of the training that I have put together. Everything is free so no worries there. If you want to see it just send me over an email. sparky1613@gmail.com. If you have any specific marketing questions send them over too I'll do my best to answer them.

Re: Twitter

I thought I might elaborate just a bit about what I do. Basically I seach for people in my local area as one step. I'll monitor certain key words so if they are "tweeted" I'll know about it. I can monitor my name, my business name, any "project keywords" I might be interested in. I also search and follow other people who I may be able to help. GC's, realtors..ext.
Twitter is basically used to get to know people. But like I said with adding in some other tools you can interact with people who you might not have been able to meet any other way...and yes I have made money from projects that originated from a twitter meeting.

Re: Twitter

We have just begun Tweeting in hopes of connecting with people in the area. We Tweet about promotions, projects we have just finished in the area and any other information that might catch people's attention. We haven't received any leads from it yet, but you never know. The more people we can get familiar with our names and services, the greater likelyhood of being referred or researched. Will let you know if anything comes of it.
