Layout doesn't work in Firefox. Works OK with Internet Explorer though. The Home, Windows, and Company info pages; the wording shifts over to the left. It doesn't stay in the box. Other than that, I think it works fine.

Re: Thoughts On Our Website

Wow- ok friendly place here, not sure how driving traffic to my website benefits me. I'm not real bright but traffic doesn't covert to leads or sales if its not my demographic customer. Sorry to have offended anybody. I plan on posting to help others as well as I'm quite sure I can contribute to alot of you that are contractors first and sales second as my background is the exact opposite.

Evening

Overall were actually pretty friendly here & glad to help. Just watch out after 8 PM as that is vodka time., & you might stay away from the Politics section if you value your head staying attached.

You should post an Introduction first & browse around. The rules are in place for very good reasons & sometimes its just that one little post (straw) that causes some of us to snap back (whether warranted or not).

FYI - Getting multiple hits to your website can hep with your Google Ranking - thus getting you more leads which equals sales.

Notes from earlier, that I removed after I saw the Mac Smack (FYI - he is a great guy & does awesome work)
Nice & Clean
Where do I call - Should be prominently displayed by your name on every page
Which area's do you work in? A customer should easily be able to find out that you do work only in SD, or ND & SD, or Pluto.
I still am not sold on the moving pictures - I guess it works for your customers

Now go wow us with an introduction & your sales building skills.

Looks good browsing on AOL. Nice clean design. Could use a little more content for the search engines.

Re: Thoughts On Our Website

going to need a lot of SEO on that site to get it to rank in SE's.

1. change your title bar to what people will be searching for. IE location of work, type of work etc. Try google's adword keyword tool to get ideas for keywords.

2. You need meta tags

3. You need alt tags on your pictures. Once again, use keywords for your alt tags without being spammy.

4. You need header tags. H1 H2 H3 etc. Do a search in the forums for "header tags" or "H1 tag" I did a pretty comprehensive write up on them ahwile back.

5. sign up for google webmaster tools, its free. Learn it, live it, love it......and read as much as you have time for in the forums in there.

6. sign up your site at dmoz.com. You don't get a lot in life for free, but that web directory is free and has a lot of weight with google. Not to mention AOL and MSN use it to index sites. So if you want to rank well in Live, MSN, or AOL it is a must. Not a lot of traffic from those, but you guys sell a very expensive product (compared to me) so it only takes 1. Be patient though, it takes upwards of a year to get listed in dmoz

Sight is super clean, it is a personal thing, but I love a clean site. I am in no way good at design, but maroon, and forest green don't seem to go good together. For all I know they are perfect together. Just my opinion.

good luck with your new site

JJ

Re: Thoughts On Our Website

-The writing on the home page is hard to read. It is sitting half on the green and half on the white. Color and location change might help.

-The Banner is kinda boring in my humble opinion.

-Any way to get rid of those lines going around the slide show?

Other than that, it looks pretty good. Nice and Clean.
