Targeting Commercial Construction

Who should I target for commercial construction jobs?

I want to do upfits and small commercial buildings. Maybe even some building maintenance too get my foot in the door.

Maybe commercial real estate agency's.
Strip mall owners.

Any ideas?

are you a sub or a GC???

as a GC, i would be making friends with some developers ...

and a good way to get to the developers --- yeah, would be some real estate BROKERS (not agents - brokers)

and a good way to get with the brokers are to get with the agents

and a good way to get with the agents ... well ...

GC

Developers, I'll add that to my list to target.

Yes I would need to get to know some agents fairly well. Maybe I could help them sell or rent locations they have by dressing them up a little at a reasonable cost. Therefore getting my foot in the door for the tenant upfit and larger projects.

brokers ... not the agents

brokers.

befriend them

they make a living from their network ... and their acquaintenceship will open doors to developers, people with political influence.

first you get the sugar, then you get the power ...

Architects and community agencies should go on the list too.

Architects and engineers are who I had my best luck with, most developers down here are builders too,so it makes it hard to get in with them.
Brokers are a good idea I am about to bid on a few projects that were given to me by the "flakiest" lady I have ever met but she knows her real estate and has some very high end clients.

I am also putting her in contact with one of my favorite architects because she has several commercial properties that she wants to develop of her own.

How did I meet her you ask?

I changed a flat for her on I-95.

Funny how things happen in this world!!!!!
