Re: Super Pages Paid Listing

From our experiences, I would not start a PPC program on superpages.com until you have a functioning Google Adwords, Yahoo and maybe MSN PPC ad campaigns.

Why? Google and Yahoo will almost always provide better return. (MSN is way behind but is probably still a little better than superpages... but your mileage may vary.)

Back in March 2006, superpages.com made a deal with Google. Read about it here:
http://www.clickz.com/showPage.html?page=3594671

If I read that article correctly... Superpages almost directly admits to a weak internal PPC program but hopes it grows in the future. So, to keep their clients happy, they will sell clients Google Adwords.

Good Luck!

I strongly recommend AGAINST Superpages services. Bad stats, bad trackability, and none of the features that Adwords/Overture/MSN offer...but at the same price

I did a deal with the a few years back on a nationwide scale. $4K per month... which could have been a fair price based on the numbers the projected.

IT turned out that our "price per click" was around $17. Over 30X our average PPC cost.

Re: Super Pages Paid Listing

Thanks fellas. I had to bid around $1.75 for chicago remodeling, not sure what I will be paying a click yet for that keyword. I had to bid that to get near the top. Does that sound like a lot.

Re: Super Pages Paid Listing

It's all relative.... some industries pay $50 per click.

You need to determine if it's a lot. To do this you need to work the data backwards...

1) Your profit amount from your average job
2) How many leads you need to generate to get an average job
3) How many visitors need to come to your site in order to generate that many leads

So for example... let's say you make an average of $1000 per job.

And you close 1 out of every 3 leads that come to you. The most you can spend per lead (to break even) is $333. Obviously, we're not in the business of breaking even... but it gives you your Ultimate cap.

So... let's suppose 1 out of every 25 people contact you. You can afford to spend (at most again) $13.32 per click.

$13.32 Per Click X 75 people = 3 leads
3 leads = 1 sale
1 sale = $1000 profit
Cost to generate 1 sale - $1000

Once you have this... then you determine what you feel is a fair marketing budget. Let's say you're willing to spend 10% of your profit margin on marketing. You apply the same numbers...

$100 budget to generate 1 sale
3 leads to get 1 sale
75 people to the site to get 3 leads
$1.33 maximum per click pay

75 visitors X $1.33 per visitor = 3 leads
3 leads = 1 sale
Marketing budget of $100 is met.

Obviosuly, you need to truly track your results. There are several factors that affect this calculation...

Is $100 per sale the right budget for you?
Do you close 1 out of 3 leads?
Does your website convert 1 out of 25 people into a lead

Here's a great tool to help figure all of this out...

Hope this helps!
