Suggestions On Marketing New Company Please

My husband is starting up his business in a new state after separating from a family business. I am stuck with ideas on marketing to get more jobs. If you have any suggestions on starting points that would be great. We would like the most effective and less costly way to generate jobs. Thanks

Wouldn't we all!

Might be an idea to start with a description of what you do and where you do it, and what you've tried so far.

Also, have a read through ALL the business and marketing threads

Your never going to find two of the exact same marketing strategies..whether on here, google, or late night info-mmercials.

Every body has a different strategy on what they do and how they do it..from advertising, to marketing, to sales, to closings..everyone is different.

My advice would be to take a lil of each thing you see, and use it to your advantage to mold your own marketing. Even if you follow someone elses "plan", it is not going to 100% work for your company and what you are trying to achieve.

Take in everything ever said here on CT, also write down books and names of people mentioned on here that have programs some of the contractors here use. They can help as well.

But as I said before, you can take a lil of this and a lil of that, but in the end..you will need to develop your own way of doing things, on a budget that you see fit for your company and situation...

GOOD LUCK!!!

If your brand new, assuming your legalities are all completed and your ready to market,

1. Start with a direct mail Letter of Introduction that tells potential clients who you are, what you have to offer, and why they should choose you. Give them a reason to want to call.

2. Run a New Business Announcement in your local newspaper.

3. Visit local businesses who would have need for your services and introduce yourself. Leave literature and a business card with them. You may not get immediate work, but nine times out of ten, your card will end up in their roledex for when they need you.

One important thing is make sure your phone number is plastered everywhere you can get it because you will not be in phone directories or other printed material right out of the starting gate.
