Signage

We have had a new guy open up a sign store in our little town, hes producing signs for site work at $8 a shot. They look good too just wonder what everyone else is paying for them?

Re: Signage

EIGHT DOLLARS?!?!?!?!?

For job-site signs ??? (I'm talking the ones similar to Real Estate agent signs)

I've got four or five of em. Made by two different places. If I remember right, I paid $120 for 2 --- and then I think $150 for others

I'm not sayin don't take a looksey at them ... but dang

*****

Just for kicks --- think of the time someone puts into a sign. It'll take AT LEAST 1/2 hr to meet with you and see what you want. Then, maybe another 1/2 hr (assuming he's fast) to produce a proof.

Let's say he's fast and somehow makes the sign in another 1/2 hr.

All in all, let's say he has spent ONE hour to make that sign.

So, $8 per hour. Let's say he has to produce a minimum $60/hr. just to keep doors open (employees, office space, equipment, etc.), or $125K year. So a necessary gross of approx. 160K per year

He would have to produce 20,000 signs.

So, 1 sign per hour

8 signs/day = 2080 signs/year (using 5 day workdays, but still)

He'd have to be able to do around 80 signs/hr ---- a little over 1 sign per minute

well, i guess he's prolly got it figured out, i dunno

I was wrong about the price..........I acctually paid $6.50 each for 500 signs (2 colors 2 sides) this price includes the frames and free shipping. You can buy as little as 50 signs for $13.99 each or $10.99 each for 1 color Size is 23" x 20"

Re: Signage

I have a local sign company that did my trailer and site signs. I use the heavy duty frames @ $80 per sign. I need to order a bunch more this week, I will have to see if he offers volume discounts.

Might I ask what you need 500 signs for? Are you running for school board or mayor? I can see maybe needing 10 or 20. Five-hundred seems like a waste, to me.

EDIT... I just looked at your website. Very impressive. Matter of fact, one of the best I've ever seen. Your operation certainly needs 500 signs or more.

We do over 300 jobs per year and we put a sign on every one of them. We don't go back for them. They will stay on the front lawn as long as the customer wants it to. We tell them when they want it removed just throw it away. At 6.50 per job I don't mind losing them.
